Earlier this week, Baltimore Ravens head coach Jim Harbaugh revealed that rookie cornerback Bilhal Kone suffered a season-ending knee injury. Now, the team has been hit with another tough blow, as they’ve lost a second rookie cornerback from this year’s NFL Draft.
According to an announcement on the Ravens’ official website, sixth-round pick Robert Longerbeam has been placed on injured reserve due to a knee injury after missing both the preseason opener and Saturday’s practice.
In a related roster move, the Ravens signed veteran running back Myles Gaskin on Sunday.
With both of their 2025 drafted cornerbacks sidelined by injuries before playing a single NFL snap, the Ravens’ depth at defensive back has taken a significant hit.
Despite the setback, the Ravens reassured fans by noting their cornerback room remains stacked—anchored by Marlon Humphrey, Nate Wiggins, Jaire Alexander, Chidobe Awuzie, T.J. Tampa, and Jalyn Armour‑Davis.
Baltimore enters the upcoming season firmly in the conversation as a Super Bowl contender. This offseason, the team went all in by acquiring Jaire Alexander from the Packers and making other strategic additions to bolster support for two-time league MVP Lamar Jackson.
Last season, the Ravens overcame a slow start to reach the AFC Divisional Round, where they narrowly fell to Josh Allen and the Bills.
This year, Baltimore opens their campaign with a rematch against Buffalo, taking the field on September 7 in a prime-time showdown on NBC’s Sunday Night Football.
