Purdue is Losing a Freshman Tight End and Former 4-star Prospect to the NCAA Transfer Portal

Key Updates on Purdue Football’s Roster Changes

On the same day that Purdue football lost two recruits, current tight end Tayvion Galloway announced his intention to transfer.

This marks the first significant departure from the team’s roster. Galloway, a freshman tight end, stated on social media Thursday that he will enter the transfer portal when it opens on December 9.

The 6-foot-5 player redshirted this season and did not participate in any games, meaning he will have four years of eligibility remaining. Galloway joined Purdue’s 2024 class as a three-star recruit according to 247Sports, hailing from Pickerington, Ohio.

Despite receiving over 30 offers from various programs, including multiple Power 4 schools, Galloway’s transfer announcement coincided with the decommitment of two other Ohio recruits from Purdue’s 2025 signing class, linebacker Grant Beerman and offensive tackle Kuol Kuol. Additionally, Galloway’s cousin, four-star cornerback Dawayne Galloway, decommitted last month.
